ARAMARK Purchaser - Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

The Purchaser is accountable for the Seattle Convention Center purchasing and will be working closely with the Executive Chef and culinary management team to order product based off recipe and event needs for a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen that specializes in customized menu planning.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position ranges from $77,000 to $80,000, depending on circumstances including an applicant?s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if applicable to the position). This is Aramark?s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an ?at-will position? and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partners with department heads to identify material/product needs to satisfy customer event orders.

  • Using a list of approved vendors, orders materials/products in specified quantities in a manner ensuring delivery prior to production.

  • Maintains electronic inventory of materials/products on hand, and audits inventory monthly for the purpose of monitoring and reporting loss or spoilage.

  • Partners with the warehouse manager to track and receive new inventory.

  • Communicates with department heads any product delivery discrepancies or product substitutions which may impact the quality or ability to deliver on event BEOs.

  • Acts on behalf of the department heads when contracting delivery with vendors; maintains positive vendor relations.

  • Drafts and maintains purchasing SOPs.

Qualifications

The Purchaser reports directly to the Executive Chef.

A successful candidate for the position will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • College degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working with inventory databases - experience with Ungerboeck / Momentus is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 or later.
