Job Description
The cycle counter / backup driver position is responsible for helping to maintain accurate counts of inventory levels, helping to maximize inventory efficiencies in house, and being a backup driver over the road as needed.
Job Responsibilities
Performing cycle counts, using the ABC analysis, based on consumption not $. A's weekly B's bi-weekly C's month Monitoring and controlling inventory practices to ensure accuracy, includes LAP (Layered Audit Process) Maintaining product identification and location programs Including visual aids for user friendly of restock but more importantly stock correct locations (Mods or floor location-bulk) Researching inventory discrepancies and resolving potential issues Including Damage/Returns Overseeing the use of VendEngine systems for planning inventory materials Performing data entry for inventory transactions Operating industrial trucks to move materials around a warehouse or factory Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment. Delivers merchandise on customers' premises via pallet jack, dolly, and/or by hand as necessary and obtains receipt for goods. Verifies load against shipping papers. Drives truck to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area. Maintains truck log according to State, Federal and Company regulations. Performs thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by Federal regulations and notes any issues as they may arise. Maintains telephone contact with Supervisor. Does not use Truck or Company fuel/credit card for any personal matters.
Qualifications
Must possess a valid driver?s license
? Previous experience as a driver preferred
? Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
? Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision
