ARAMARK Beverage/Bar Manager - NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas

Job Description

Aramark is currently seeking a Beverage/Bar Manager to support NRG Stadium, home of the NFL Texans, in Houston, TX! The Beverage/Bar Manager is responsible for developing, executing, ordering, and overseeing the stocking of bar locations to meet customer needs and tastes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and implementing programs and strategies that support the current and multi-year department business plan related to beverage alcohol.

  • Develop and refine preparation and handling procedures that are consistent with employee abilities, equipment, facilities, and safe handling regulations.

  • Be knowledgeable on current alcohol beverage trends and equipment innovation in the market.

  • Ensure periodic quality checks for all products and services.

  • Create and implement promotional plans to drive business.

  • Assists in maintaining beverage policies and procedures to maintain quality, presentation, and service.

  • Manage project timelines and budget positions.

  • Assist the team with any and all events including caterings, conferences, banquets, and more as assigned from the Director of Premium.

  • Must be able and willing to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • This is a physical role of being consistently on your feet, assisting the team in setups and breakdowns.

  • Must have a hands-on mentality to be successful in the role.

  • This role reports to the Senior Premium Manager who they will work directly with daily to complete tasks and duties as assigned to them.

Essential Functions:

  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams to maximize their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance. Ensure the adult beverage program appropriately connects to the Executional Framework. Coach employees by creating a shared understanding of what needs to be achieved and how to execute it. Reward and recognize employees. Ensure safety and sanitation standards in operation.

  • Client Relationship: Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships. Demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard model. Identify client needs and communicate operational progress.

  • Financial Performance: Build revenue and manage budget which includes cost controls with regard to beverage and labor. Adopt all Aramark processes and systems to eliminate custom/manual reports. Accurately compute all menu costs as well as ongoing menu revisions. Understand performance metrics, data, and order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins.

  • Productivity: Implement and maintain Aramark agenda for both food and labor initiatives. Create value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management. Consistent application of Aramark?s operating standards and processes with a particular focus on efficiencies in food standards. Understand end-to-end supply chain and procurement processes and systems to ensure only authorized suppliers are used.

  • Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees. Comply with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, and wage and hour. Ensure compliance with government regulations and education on industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Requires at least 1 year of experience and prior experience in a management role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Passionate about the beverage sector

  • Strong relationship skills and experience working with Vendors and other 3rd party providers

  • Ability to work within tight timelines and an ever-changing business

  • Team-orientated, friendly & outgoing

  • Attention to detail, organization, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programs

  • Basic computer/technical skills

  • Ability to work a flexible event-based schedule including evenings, weekends, and potentially holidays
