ARAMARK Hotel Reservationist - High Point Univ - Kahn Hotel & Alo Res in High Point, North Carolina

Job Description

The Jana & Ken Kahn Hotel is a 30-room boutique hotel exclusively for current and future High Point University families and is not open to the public. This 5-Star luxury hotel features beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites and a fine-dining restaurant, all connected to the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center.

The Reservationist will report directly to the Front Office Operations manager. The position will be responsible to respond to and process all reservation inquiries. Etiquette, solid communication, follow-up as well as interdepartmental coordination skills are imperative to maintain the highest level of service to both internal and external clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Stay trained on all the technical information in order to engage with customers in a professional manner.

  • Be aware about all the hotel and restaurant programs, services, accommodations types, promotions, rates, and facilities.

  • Know all the properties booking policies, procedures and payment methods.

  • Ensure confirmation emails and other correspondence is provided as part of the guest reservation process.

  • Update the hotel?s system for cancellations, VIP?s, alerts, and other information necessary to create a seamless check-in process.

  • Deliver high level of hospitality and responsiveness to client and prospective guests.

  • Communicate/coordinate with Front Office manager on reservation flow and block pick-up.

  • Accept and book reservation requests for Hotel, Alo & Kazoku Restaurants.

  • Manage and coordinate reservations and room blocks with the hotel?s HPU client in the system adapted by the organization. Set up billing instructions.

  • Mange rates, packages and special promotions in the hotels? software programs.

  • Attend client pre-conference meetings as Reservation representative to capture and execute reservation details for group and individuals.

  • Assist and collaborate with Front Desk manager/supervisors on property rate structure, rate codes, guest lists approved for reservations, and all other pertinent information to ensure front desk team is equipped to execute call-in and walk-in reservations to policy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience as a reservation agent or one year experience as a sales representative.

  • Front Desk Operations a plus

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

  • Experience using reservations systems such as Opera, ONQ, Fosse, etc. Ihotelier reservation platform and/or other systems knowledge is a plus.

  • Excellent problem solving, complaint resolution and negotiations skills.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact in a patient, courteous, clear, and comprehensive manner.

  • Able to respond to customer inquiries carefully and completely.

  • Must demonstrate self-motivation and initiative by taking ownership when resolving issues and completing assignments with minimal directions from others.

  • Outstanding keyboarding/typing and computer skills.

  • Demonstrates outstanding habits of dependability and attendance.
